Intro
What is the logic behind Lifter’s account attribution and ownership?
Account Selection Page - Lifter’s Ongoing Research Sources:
-
Account Selection page shows ongoing research accounts from 3 different sources:
-
Admin’s lists upload (allocation is based on the ownership column with the user’s email).
-
Dynamic filters (allocation is based on the CRM allocation field selected by the Admin) - For customers with CRM integration.
-
SEP activity (allocation is based on SEP activity) - For customers with SEP integration.
-
-
The following logic determines the ownership of each account:
-
Admin’s list ownership is stronger than other allocations:
-
Ownership is updated according to the list’s assigned owners.
-
Accounts will appear only on the list owner’s Account Selection page.
-
Lists ownership overwrites the CRM allocation field selected by the Admin.
-
-
CRM integration only:
-
Ownership is set by CRM allocation field selected by the Admin as part of the integration settings page.
-
Accounts will appear on the allocated owner Account Selection page.
-
-
SEP integration only:
-
Ownership is set by SEP activity.
-
Accounts will appear on the Account Allocation page of the user with the SEP activity.
-
-
-
Lifter’s ownership logic is set to allow as few conflicts as possible and flag such conflicts to the Admin in future versions.

FAQ (Alice and Bob are SDRs)
General:
-
Which CRM/SEP integrations do we have on Lifter? Customers can integrate their CRM platform, SEP platform, both CRM and SEP platforms, or have no platforms integrated into Lifter.
-
Where do Admins set the allocation field? Admins select a CRM allocation field as part of the CRM integration process. The allocation field should be a field used by their organization to mark the responsible SDR/BDR.
-
Do customers with no CRM allocation set the allocation field? No- this field selection is only available for CRM-integrated customers.
Ongoing Lists:
-
Alice’s Admin uploaded an ongoing list and assigned Account ABC to her. Where will she see Account ABC? On the Account Selection page.
-
Alice’s Admin uploaded an ongoing list and assigned Account ABC to her, but this account was allocated to her colleague Bob on the CRM. Who will see this account and where? Account ABC will appear on Alice’s Account Selection page and will be removed from Bob’s page- it will also be updated as Alice’s account in the CRM.
-
Alice’s Admin uploaded an ongoing list and assigned Account ABC to her. Alice’s colleague, Bob, had SEP activity on this account. Who will see this account and where? Account ABC will appear on Alice’s Account Selection page and will be removed from Bob’s page- it will also be updated as Alice’s account in the SEP (and CRM - if their organization has CRM integration).
-
So, ongoing list assignees override other owners? Yes- the account will only appear on the list owner Account Selection page, and Lifter will overwrite allocated owners in other platforms.
CRM:
-
Account ABC was allocated to Alice on the CRM. Who will see this account and where? Account ABC will appear on Alice’s Account Selection page.
-
But wait, what if Account ABC’s CRM-allocated owner was manually changed to Bob. Who will see this account and where? Account ABC will appear on Bob’s Account Selection page and will be removed from Alice’s page.
SEP:
-
Lifter collected Alice’s SEP activity on account ABC. Who will see this account and where? Account ABC will appear on Alice’s Account Selection page. If Alice also has CRM integration, and Account ABC had no owner on the CRM- Alice will also be updated as the CRM owner.
-
What if both Alice and Bob have SEP activity on Account ABC- Who will see this account and where? Account ABC will appear on both SDRs Account Selection page. In future versions, we will flag such cases to their Admin to resolve it according to company policy.
CRM vs. SEP:
-
What if Alice has SEP activity on account ABC but Bob is listed as the CRM owner of this account? Account ABC will appear on Bob’s Account Selection page. The account will be removed from Alice’s Account Selection page.
-
So Lifter ignores SEP activity of accounts with different CRM owners? Yes. Lifter will show such accounts only on the CRM owner Account Selection page.
Conflicts:
-
Does Lifter flag ownership or attribution conflicts to Admins? Lifter will flag conflicts on future versions.
-
Which conflicts will be flagged to Admins? SEP dual ownership, changed ownership (Lists or CRM), CRM missing owners, etc.
-
How will Lifter flag these conflicts? Via a dashboard widget.
