CRM/SEP Overwrite and Autofill FAQ

L4T Admins and Lifter individual users set the CRM/SEP platforms field mapping as part of their integration process.

As part of the research process, we are pushing back data to the customer’s CRM or SEP platform. Lifter allows data to autofill and overwrite.

Autofill - logic and behavior

  • Lifter is set for default auto-fill of empty fields. We want to allow updated Lifter data in empty fields CRM/SEP records.

  • If a certain field were auto-filled with Lifter’s data, the CRM/SEP record (account/contact) would be labeled accordingly (RB_updated).

  • Lifter users can’t select/unselect autofill for specific fields- Autofill is on by default.

Overwrite - logic and behavior.

  • Lifter is not set for default data overwriting in CRM/SEP records.

  • As part of the field mapping process, users can select which field is permitted for overwriting by Lifter.

  • If the user doesn’t permit overwriting a certain field - Lifter will not change/update the field’s value.

  • If the user permits overwriting a certain field - Lifter will replace the CRM/SEP field value with the Lifter research result value (and the ‘old’ value will be deleted).

  • If a certain field were overwritten with Lifter’s data, the CRM/SEP record (account/contact) would be labeled accordingly (RB_updated).

FAQ (Alice and Bob are SDRs)

Autofill:

  • If a CRM field was empty and Lifter sourced data for this field, would it be updated? Yes - if the CRM field Industry was empty, and Lifter research sourced Advertising as the company’s industry- the CRM field Industry would show the value of Advertising.

  • Is there a way for the customer to tell if a field was auto-filled by Lifter? Yes - it will show up with the label RB_updated.

  • Can the customer select specific fields to be auto-filled by Lifter? No - Lifter autofill is the default. Our App doesn’t include a selection option for auto-filling.

Overwrite:

  • Can the user select which fields are permitted for overwriting? Yes - the user should select fields that are permitted for overwriting. The user should select fields.

  • If the user didn’t select a specific field, will Lifter overwrite it? No - to overwrite a field and change the existing value with the updated Lifter value, the user must select it. For example, CRM field Industry = Advertising; Lifter sourced Construction as the company domain. The user didn’t permit us to overwrite the Industry field; therefore, the value will remain Advertising.

  • What happens if a CRM field’s value differs from Lifter’s results? It depends - if the user selected the field as permitted for overwriting- the value will be updated with Lifter’s data. For example, CRM field Industry = Advertising; Lifter sourced Construction as the company domain. The user permitted overwrite on the Industry field. Therefore, the value will be changed to Construction and labeled RB_updated.

  • But wait, it’s a new feature - what about Lifter customers who already completed their field mapping before we changed this behavior? For existing customers with CRM/SEP integration, all the field mapping fields will be unchecked. CS should inform the customer about this new feature, and the users can decide which field they wish to overwrite.
